Documenting the history of the ethnic groups that filled the first populated area of Rockford, the Ethnic Heritage Museum has records pertaining to the Irish, Italian, Polish, African-American, Lithuanian and Hispanic people of the region. It has a number of exhibits relating to these groups and their influences in the early development of the town. The museum is located inside an historical 1890s house just south of the downtown area.
